NK Speed Coach Review

First of all, it’s awesome. I like the  better than the speed puck and my Garmin for it's display and accuracy. I love the way it counts stroke rate. It's easy. It holds a charge.

What's missing: The thing that stands out most to me is the lack of an online resource such as Garmin Direct. It will store data, but lacks the online interface. I do hear it’s in the works and that those who buy one now will have an incentive to buy the new one when it comes out although it's unofficial. I love GArminConnect. But, I don't get instant, visible feedback, which is why so many of us have found ways to mount our Garmins on our boards rather than just buying a display like this. We were too stuck in the Tri and running worlds prior to training with a paddle

Jason at Carolina Paddleboard Company has it mounted on a Tooluxe 4-3/4 Inch Single Handle Suction Cup he bought for $7. I suggest also attaching the mounting strap to something more permanently attached to the board. I've successfully taken it though the surf, although I don't recommend it.

I like that they are waterproof, look close to unbreakable, and holds a charge.

Also, pick a color:

For prone paddling, I noticed it didn't capture stroke rate unless I was knee paddling. When knee paddling, it worked great. I wish it has a heading function. It may have it, but to pick a heading and see the degrees at eye level would be great. A compass works great, too. I know… Duh.

There are basically two versions that I would suggest:
