Surftech’s Candice Appleby made it a clean sweep, winning the sprint and distance races at last weekend’s Stand Up World Series event in Huntington Beach, CA. With a 3rd place in the SUP surf competition and 1st in the race series, Candice earned herself the Stand Up World Tour Huntington Beach Grand Slam title on her 12’6″ Signature Bark race board!

With her win in Huntington Beach last week, Candice will take that momentum into the Battle of the Paddle next weekend!

“I’m really looking forward to seeing what Salt Creek serves up for the BOP,” Appleby said. “I love racing in the waves and I’ve been training hard and feeling good, so it should be a lot of fun. I’m going to miss the “M” shaped course that puts us in and out of the surf several times, but I have a feeling that the dumping barrels of Salt Creek will make up for it. I’ve got great equipment and a new mind set on competing, so it should make for a great race!”

If you’re at Salt Creek next weekend, stop by the Surftech booth to say hi to Candice, Joe Bark, Matt Becker, Morgan Hoesterey and the rest of the Surftech team and try out some boards!

Candice Appleby Surftech bark

A redesigned shape for 2014, Candice Appleby worked with Joe to update the acclaimed 12’6″ Appleby Race. One inch narrower in the center, and shedding unneeded volume, Bark and Appleby refined this down to be the go-to board for all racing categories. Demand complete performance.

The collaboration between Bark and Surftech began years ago bringing together innovative designs and state of the art construction technology to create superior Paddleboards and Stand Up Paddleboards. The 2015 Bark Surftech line includes high performance race, downwind, touring, paddleboards and many other new boards. Check them out your local Surftech dealer in early Spring!!

Founded in 1989, Surftech is the industry leader in manufacturing surfboards, stand up paddleboards and paddleboards. Surftech introduced the first composite technology surfboard to the surf industry 25 years ago. Surftech partnered with the best shapers in the world to bring this innovative new composite construction to market. Nearly 20 years later, at a time when very few people outside of Hawaii had ever seen or heard of stand up paddling, Surftech again broke new ground by introducing the very first production stand up paddleboard to the market, a move that some say launched the SUP industry.

Today, in partnership with many of the world’s leading board designers, Surftech offers a wide variety of high performance surf, stand up and prone paddleboards to customers worldwide.
