Sup Think Tank: LiftSUP Handle Now Available in New Colors

We spent some time hanging with the SUP Think Tank guys at Surf Expo. They’re super cool. Not in the least because they have these amazing velour track suits. I just wanted to pet them.

But we are here to talk about gear. Matt sent us some info about the LiftSUP handle this morning. From a manufacturer standpoint, this is a no-brainer for adding to boards. If you’re a consumer, note that these can be added aftermarket by ding repair people and/or local shapers.

LiftSUP Now Available in Colors with Added Soft Handle

This in from Matt:

“After its 3rd full year of production, the patented LiftSUP handle has been installed in over 60,000 boards and continues to improve the paddling experience based largely on customer feedback.

New in 2014…. a soft rubber coated handle was added that provides a more comfortable and secure grip. The rubber also helps keep the handle in place and prevents any plastic rattling noise from occurring. While adding improved design and comfort, the handle maintained its tensile strength of over 850 lbs and shear strength over 450 lbs. The combo of the tensile strength and improved handle design makes LiftSUP a great way to carry your board, and also provides a solid attachment point for a lock and cable to help deter theft.

For those of you not familiar with the LiftSUP handle system, it is a retractable handle that allows the user a significantly better way to carry, maneuver, control and manage their board. When not in use the handle sits flush with the deck of a board and has a small access hole to allow raising the handle for ease of grabbing and controlling on your way into or out of the water. One of the often over looked advantages of a flush, retractable handle as opposed to any handle that creates a large opening in the deck of a board is it eliminates the liability of jamming your foot/toes into that hand hole and the potential of breaking or injuring toes.

The handle aids the user in finding the perfect center of balance when transporting their SUP. Each handle has a gel dome label that sits on top of the handle creating an ergonomically correct feel in your hand and gives a bit of traction on the deck of the board in the event that you step on the handle during use.

One of the best things about the LIftSUP handle is price. At $8.00 each it is the best investment you can make in a board. It increases the value of a board and makes the paddling experience even more enjoyable.”

These handles are made in the USA. Even better! You can learn more about LiftSUP at:  www.supthinktank.com
