This is just a heads up. I’m testing out the Lifeproof Case for the iPhone 6+ and have noticed a real problem when making calls. No one can hear me. The first test of a phone case is can you make a call. It didn’t work well for me. It turns out that it’s a bug.
I spoke to LifeProof and talked to their customer service. The person was very helpful. Apparently, they went into production with one set of specs from Apple for the iPhone 6+, went into production, then the specs changed. As a result, the microphone and speaker are blocked. While this does effect the sound quality, it isn’t the part that really kills the sound. It’s the feature in iPhones that helps eliminate background noise called Phone Noise Cancellation. With the speaker and microphone blocked, the phone thinks you voice is actually the background noise that needs to be blocked.
Go to: Settings/General/Accessibility/Phone Noise Cancellation
To fix this, go to Settings/General/Accessibility and scroll down to Phone Noise Cancellation. Turn it off. That should help. We’ll see.
