Paddleboard RESCUE: 1500 people rescued in Chennai, India by accessing the inaccessible flood areas on a sup for rescue and are offering FREE RESCUE TRAINING: CHENNAI, INDIA
Bay of Life Surf School team is aiding in the Chennai flood rescue in Mudichur mookambikai nagar area of India.
With fishing boat and paddle boards tied to an offroader and 5 rescuers with two first responders from bay of life paddlers concentrated the areas in Mudichur Mookambikaui Nagar near tambaram. They managed to rescue 40 people from in accessible areas on standup paddleboards.
The CSG Coastal security group helped in identifying the location and even helped clear the traffic so they could reach the spot faster.
“We knew there are narrow streets where boars can’t go, where people can be accessed only by paddleboards. Sumeet, our team member was scouting the maps for narrow streets and guided the rescuers Selvam, Siddharth, Noel, Krishna and Showkath to get there and search for stranded people.
FREE RESCUE TRAINING
In the wave of the floods Bay of Life is happy to announce free rescue training for people starting 25 th November 2015. Every saturday at 3 pm. 10 people max per session.
They will be trained on search and rescue and basic first aid at Bay of Life Surf School, ECR Chennai. We have trained WFR ( Wilderness First Responders) from NOLS USA and Certified Lifeguards by NIWS who will be training people directly.
