Louanne from the Atlantic SUPergirls Reviews Goal Zero Solar Panels on their paddleboard adventure from NYC to Key West. The way they charge their devices while on the water and the beach is with Goal Zero Solar Panels. Goal Zero Nomad 7M Solar Panel $80.00
They are water resistant, not waterproof. That does help a lot because they don’t have to worry as much about having some water come in contact with the panels. That doesn’t mean they submerge them, but it’s kind of a relief to know they can take a little spray.

They have one large and one small Goal Zero Portable Solar Panels. They come with all sorts of wires, they use the USB ports. They use a Goal Zero external battery pack that they charge along with their devices. This is also water resistant.

They charge the battery pack in the sun during the day, then charge their devices from the battery pack at night.

When on the water, they put them in a sealine clear dry bag and seal it up, throw it on top of their pack. You can also plug devices directly into the solar panel. You don’t have to just charge the battery. You can go direct.

Goal Zero Venture 30 Solar Kit $169.95

About the SUPergirls

The SUPerGirls—Louanne Harris and Julieta “Jules” Gismondi—are paddling standup paddleboards from New York to Miami to raise awareness of issues that affect our health, our environment and our lives.

“Our expedition’s objective is to inspire action towards a healthier planet and a healthier way of life. Two thirds of the funds raised during our trip will be donated to important causes that are very dear to us: Mission Blue and First Descents. We will also be collecting data as we paddle along the coast and contributing the results to research focused on studying the changes that are happening in our oceans and waterways. We want to help understand how we affect these as well as how they affect us. Your help means the world! We are eternally grateful for your support.”

Two thirds of the funds raised will be split between First Descents (http://firstdescents.org/) and Mission Blue (http://missionblue.org/).

First Descents provides life-changing outdoor adventures for young adults (age 18-39) impacted by cancer. For more information on First Descents, go to: http://firstdescents.org/

Mission Blue is an initiative of the Sylvia Earle Alliance to ignite public support for the protection of Hope Spots – special places that are vital to the health of the ocean – through the creation of a global network of marine protected areas to safeguard 20% of the ocean by 2020.
