Yes, boards have evolved in the last 12 years and my skills evolve as well as my board needs.

Try before you buy.
Weirdest thing that’s happened to you while paddling?
I have experienced people, places and thing that I would have never experienced if I had not taken up SUP. This sport has enriched me beyond belief.

Power Bars and water.
Goals for this next year?
Train for the 13 mile Round the Rock race in Seattle, WA.
Favorite post-paddle nosh (snack/beer/recovery drink)
A good pale ale.

What piece of SUP gear do you wish someone would invent?
A jacket that opens up and becomes a sail.
What’s your biggest challenge with SUP?
Wind, heading into it is very challenging.
What is your proudest moment in a SUP race or event?
Riding my board solo 19 miles from Shelton, WA to Olympia, WA.
Tell us about the best friend(s) you made through paddling.
I have made a lot of wonderful friends through SUP. I met my wife through SUP. We share the same passion for the sport. I proposed to her while we were paddleboarding in Bend, OR. on Lake Hosmer.
What was your best SUP travel trip?
I took a trip along Highway 101 from Olympia, WA. to San Clement, CA. I stopped at many great spots along the way.
