Spring Base Training with Coach Larry Cain starts Monday, March 15

The Spring Base Program with Coach Larry Cain starts Monday. It is designed to reintroduce paddlers to full load on-water training and to develop a specific aerobic base.
If you have been able to paddle to some degree through the winter you should be able to do the paddling work but of course, should pay attention to detail with regards to technique.
If you have not been able to paddle much through the winter and are just now returning to the water please try to do the work but do not hesitate to stop briefly to rest/refocus if you feel your technique is deteriorating during the work. It is better at this point to establish good movement patterns than it is to try to grind out work.
If you are not yet able to paddle please follow the instructions provided in “notes” and do land-based cardio work instead. If you have any concerns or questions please do not hesitate to contact Coach Cain in either convos or in the training program discussion.
As technique should be a focus at this point it is strongly suggested that you do 10 to 15 min of land-drills daily to support what you are doing on the water. This will help make your paddling more successful from a technical perspective.
As usual, those who may have races coming up in the next 6 weeks should consult with me in convos or the weekly training program discussion for modifications. Have a great week!
