Come see why Hilton Head Island has been voted by Travel and Leisure as the best island destination in America (https://www.travelandleisure.com/worlds-best/hilton-head-best-island-in-us). Hilton Head Island is in the heart of South Carolina’s Lowcountry and is surrounded by vast tidal salt marshes that are a paddler’s paradise. Hilton Head has many great restaurants, tennis courts, world known golf courses and miles of bike paths and hard packed sandy beaches great for running and biking. Stay the weekend, you will not regret it!The race is part of The Souther Stoke Paddle Series! The race will be held on Skull Creek, which separates Hilton Head Island from Pinckney Island (a national wildlife refuge) and the mainland. Skull Creek is part of the intracoastal waterway and has a rich history including native Indian oyster shell rings and burning homes during the Revolutionary War. The race, lunch and afterparty will be held at Hudson’s Seafood on the Docks, which is one of the oldest restaurants on Hilton Head. The Lowcountry Boil Paddle Race proceeds will benefit The Outside Foundation and The David M. Carmines Foundation. The Outside Foundation has a mission to get every child in Beaufort County in a kayak during their middle school years.
