200m: You must paddle from a dead start, standing on your board on a 200m course with clear start and finish markings. Find a friend to hand time you to the 1/100th of a second and submit this time manually.
We all know that fast times are done in fast conditions so we expect the sprint times will be done in tailwinds. Please make sure that your times are done on flat water with no tide or current. If you do not have access to a marked course you can mark your own by using your GPS and dropping buoys or, if you are paddling sufficiently close to shore, using markings onshore. Just make sure that you and your timer are both aware of the start and finish lines.
Remember, if you’re submitting times manually rather than uploading GPS files we’re using the honour system. Do your best to time your race or time trial accurately and, in the sprints, to start on the start line, not ahead of it. Our goal in the future is to eventually have a season-ending event where the paddlers with the top times are invited to compete against each other head to head so you’ll want to be sure your times accurately reflect what you’ll be able to do against others.
